Here is the first product of 20 years of hybridizing for wide, bright white midribs that I consider to be worth registering. The flower is distinctive -- the pattern stands out across the garden, and the plant is strong and healthy. The flowers are held evenly right above the foliage, so it presents superbly as a clump. The flower color is bright and luminous and the foliage is a bright, very disease-free blue-green.
I've documented the saga of this hybridizing effort fully on the hybridizing for prominent white midribs page. There you can find much more about the genealogy of #05-30b, which was given the informal garden name of "Triple BTO watermark" after its two parent seedlings and its subtle watermark feature that distinguishes it from a sibling that was also kept for evaluation. Without repeating the information on the midrib page, I will just show photos of the two parent seedlings below, both of which have proven to be exceptional parents.

In order to get a true luminosity to this flower, the underlying flower base color must be as near white as possible while retaining a vibrant dark overlay. The balance of these two contrasting colors in a wide midrib pattern is what makes #05-30b distinct.
The DaylilyNut Farm has never had rust. It is state inspected, and is located about 25 miles west of Baltimore, MD. In 2006 the garden was moved to a cold-pocket valley, on the boundary between USDA climate zones 5 and 6 (coldest winter night is about -10F).
